“St
Nicholas and St Sergius”, possibly late 18th or early 19th century
I understand
that this small Russian icon may be the right panel of a diptych or, more
likely, a triptych (because the saints are facing left) featuring Christ and
the Virgin Mary. The names of the saints are inscribed above their heads in
Cyrillic with St Nicholas shown on the left.
Tempera and
gold leaf on wood panel.
Size: 7.5 x
6.2 x .5cm
Condition: the
panel is bowed and has the patina of its age with losses around the border.
I am
selling this small jewel of an icon, for the total cost of AU$465
(currently US$305.11/EUR280.83/GBP236.55 at the time of this
listing) including Express Mail (EMS) postage and handling to anywhere in the
world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
Note that payment is in Australian dollars (AU$465) as this is my currency.
If you are
interested in purchasing this genuine Russian icon, please contact me
(oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal invoice to make
the payment easy.
