This small
nugget of romanticism exemplifies Paul Huet’s interest in capturing the poetry
of a moonlit landscape. Going further, a landscape steeped with the romance associated
with a glimpse of a distant windmill, mist in a forest of tall sinuous tress
and an expanse of water populated with small boats laden with farm animals.
To my eyes, this
print is the perfect arrangement of subject matter exemplifying what the advertising
world describes as the “Foote, Cone and Belding Grid.” (For those who may be
unfamiliar with the FCB Grid the following two articles might be helpful: http://www.printsandprinciples.com/2012/03/daniel-heimlich-foote-cone-and-belding.html
