Lucien Hector Jonas (1880–1947)
“Requisition” and “Déportations”, c1945,
published as folio covers to “Les Souffrances de la France: Retraite,
Restrictions, Ravages, Résistance, Représailles, Résurrection” (The Sufferings
of France: Retirement, Restrictions, Ravages, Resistance, Retaliation,
Resurrection), and printed by Destruit-Merlot-Mousset in 1945 by the French
Association of Lithograph Artists in Paris.
(See a description of this publication
and the lithographs offered by the bookseller, Proantic: https://www.proantic.com/display.php?mode=obj&id=411993)
Lithographs in two colours (black and
white) on heavy brown Canson paper/card with full margins as published.
Size: (each sheet) 32 x 24.5 cm
Each print signed on plate with the
artist monogram at lower left: “LJ”
Condition: both impressions are in
excellent condition (i.e. there are no tears, holes, abrasions, significant stains
or foxing) but the sheet, “Requisition” has a vertical score mark—perhaps a
publication fold line rather than a handling crease.
I am selling this pair of superb original
lithographs of great historical and social interest for the total cost of AU$192
(currently US$136.57/EUR120.37/GBP104.68 at the time of this listing) including
postage and handling to anywhere in the world (but not, of course, any import
duties/taxes imposed by some countries).
If you are interested in purchasing these
graphically strong and meaningful lithographs, please contact me
(oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal invoice to make
the payment easy.
