“Study of a bas-relief from the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, Lugano” (descriptive title only) or as inscribed on plate, “Tratto da un Bassorilievo in marmo, che si vede in uno dc'pilastri delle porte sulla facciata della insigne Basilica di San Lorenzo in Lugano” ([transl.] “Taken from a marble bas-relief, which is seen in one of the pillars of the doors on the facade of the famous Basilica of San Lorenzo in Lugano”), 1795, plate 19 in the series of 20 plates (with the addition of a title plate and dedication plate to Lodovico Galeazzo Busca Arconati Visconti, marchese di Lomagna) after Giocondo Albertolli (1742–1839) in “Miscellanea per i giovani studiosi del disegno .... Parte terza” (Miscellanea for young scholars of drawing .... Third part), 1796, published by Giocondo Albertolli in Milan, page 41. Size: (sheet) 57.5 x 43 cm; (plate) 33 x 17.2 cm; (image borderline) 31.5 x 15.5 cm.
Numbered on plate at upper right: “Tav. XIX.”
Lettered on plate along the lower edge: (left) “Giocondo Albertolli dis.”; (centre) “Tratto da un Bassorilievo in marmo, che si vede in uno dc'pilastri delle porte sulla facciata della / Insigne Basilica di San Lorenzo in Lugano.”; (right) “Giacomo Mercoli inc.”

Condition: crisp, well-inked and faultless impression with full margins in near pristine condition.
