The Rijksmuseum offers the following description of this print in its second state:
(Transl.) “Shepherd family rests with herd of cows by trees. Shepherdess is sitting with child on her lap. Print number 2 from series of four prints with times of the day.”
See also the description of the print in its first state held by the Harvard Art Museums/Fogg Museum:

Condition: richly inked impression with strong contrasts. There is a closed tear towards the centre of the left side, otherwise the sheet is in excellent condition (i.e. there are no folds, holes, abrasions, stains, foxing or significant signs of use). The sheet is trimmed close to the plate-mark and backed with a support sheet of archival (millennium quality) washi paper.
