“The
pilgrim with his back to us bears traditional pilgrim's attributes: hat, staff
and scallop shell tied onto the hat. Jesus appears to bless the bread, in a
modification of the last supper”
See
also the description of this print at the Rijksmuseum:
Condition:
well-printed but slightly dull lifetime impression (before the addition of the verse
inscription) with minor restorations (e.g. chips to the margin edges have been
replenished) and the sheet is laid on a support of archival (millennium
quality) washi paper.
I
am selling this sensitively executed engraving illustrating the moment when two
of Christ’s disciples recognise that the man blessing of their bread is actually
Christ resurrected from the dead, for the total price of AU$330 (currently US$226.03/EUR204.80/GBP175.72
at the time of posting this print) including postage and handling to anywhere
in the world (but not, of course, any import duties/taxes imposed by some
countries).
If
you are interested in purchasing this dramatic engraving—note the theatrical lighting
driven by the single lit candle, the unambiguous hand gestures and the cropping
of the figures by the image borderline—please contact me
