Etching on heavy laid paper (watermark of letters) with margins and backed with a support sheet.
Size: (sheet) 22.9 x 32.5 cm; (plate) 13.8 x 20.3 cm; (image borderline) 12.8 x 20 cm.
Inscribed on plate within the image borderline: (upper left corner) “Tav XXXVI”; (upper right corner) “Fig. I”.
Lettered on plate below the image borderline: (centre) “VEDUTA DELL'AVANZO DEL PERISTILO DELLA CASA NERONIANA”; (lower right corner) “Piranesi Archit. dis. inc.”

Condition: Superb and strong impression in near pristine condition (i.e. there are no tears, holes, folds, abrasions, stains, foxing or signs of handling) laid upon an archival support sheet of millennium quality washi paper.
I am selling this small—compared to many of Piranesi’s huge prints—but absolutely magnificent etching by the great master, Piranesi, with all the hallmarks of his technical skill and grand vision for a total cost of AU$604 (currently US$412.12/EUR372.04/GBP317.24 at the time of this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere in the world.
