Matthäus Merian I (aka Matthaeus Merian) (1593–1650)

publications]), c.1690.
Etching on laid paper trimmed with a narrow
margin around the platemark and backed with a support sheet.
Size: (sheet trimmed slightly unevenly) 31.1 x
24 cm; (image borderline) 30.6 x 23.1 cm.

The
Metropolitan Museum of Art offers a description of this print from the state
before the addition of the publication details for Tischerning:
Condition:
richly inked impression with numerous restored tears and replenished loses (e.g.
to the right of the tablet) in the lower section of the sheet. To address the restored
damage, the sheet has been laid onto a support of archival (millennium quality)
washi paper.

am selling this grand vision of Julius Caesar on a rearing horse for the total
