Antoine de Marcenay de Ghuy's miniature etchings, “Three river landscapes and a forest view”, c.1778


Antoine de Marcenay de Ghuy (1724–1811)
“Three river landscapes and a forest view”, 1773–78, printed on a single sheet of wove paper (20 x 11 cm) backed with a support sheet. The Rijksmuseum offers a description of this set of four etchings:

UPPER ETCHING:
“Plate 49: Paysage un par une voûte de rochers” (Landscape one by one arch of rocks), c.1778
(platemark) 2.8 x 5.3 cm; (image borderline) 1.7 x 4.4 cm.
Lettered on plate below the image borderline: (centre) “No.49.”

The British Museum offers the following descriptions of this print:
“Landscape with in the foreground, a rocky arch opening onto a river landscape”

SECOND LOWER ETCHING:
“Plate 50: Un bois” (A wood), c.1778
(platemark) 2.9 x 4.7 cm; (image borderline) 2.2 x 4.9 cm.
Lettered on plate below the image borderline: (centre) “No.50.”

The British Museum offers the following descriptions of this print:
“Landscape with stream running into left foreground, trees on either banks, and two figures on the left”

THIRD LOWER ETCHING:
“Plate 51: Rivère” (River), c.1778
(platemark) 3.8 x 9 cm; (image borderline) 3.5 x 8.2 cm.
Lettered on plate below the image borderline: (centre) “No.51.”
Morand 60; Le Blanc 63
The British Museum offers the following descriptions of this print:
“Landscape with river running on the right, and at left some rocky banks, with house standing at the top of a hill”
LOWEST ETCHING:
“Plate 52: Rivère” (River—note that Morand titles this plate with the same name as Plate 51), 1778
(platemark) 3.9 x 8.9 cm; (image borderline) 3.4 x 8.2 cm.
Lettered on plate below the image borderline: (left) “De Marcenay del, et Scul. 1778.”;  (centre) “No.52.”
Morand 61; Le Blanc 64
The British Museum offers the following descriptions of this print:
“Landscape with river running into right foreground, and in the left foreground, trees, a house and a round tower”

Condition: all four etchings are richly inked and strong impressions. Beyond a faint dot on the upper left edge,  the sheet is in excellent condition (i.e. there are no tears, holes, losses, creases, abrasions or significant stains) and is laid onto a support sheet of archival (millennium quality) washi paper.

I am selling this set of four tiny etchings of superb quality printed on the same sheet, for the total cost of AU$380 (currently US$235.09/EUR211.77/GBP191.34 at the time of this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere in the world (but not, of course, any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries).
