Guiffrey (1866) offers the following description of this print:

(Google Transl.) “A country girl, dressed in a dress which leaves her shoulder and her leg bare, is sitting on a mound under a tree near a rough fence. She gives [food?] to a little bird. On the other side of the fence, a shepherd in a wide hat, in a cloak, is leaning on his elbows, talking to the maiden of the fields. His flock spreads over an eminence separated in two by a plank fence, at the top of which the silhouette of the dog stands out against the sky” (p. 92).
