The Rijksmuseum offers the following description of
this print:
(Transl.) “A man and a woman are walking on a path in
front of a church in a mountainous landscape. In the river next to the
path, a man soaks his donkey and two women do the laundry.”
Condition: a well-printed, slightly silvery impression
trimmed minimally within the platemark and laid onto an archival support sheet
of millennium quality washi paper. Beyond a few pale marks (e.g. at the centre
of the lower edge and the lower right corner), the sheet is in a very good
condition for its considerable age (i.e. there are no tears, holes, losses,
abrasions, significant stains of foxing).
I am selling this poetically glowing landscape with
the raking light of early morning (or perhaps later afternoon), for a total cost
of AU$292 (currently US$211.21/EUR178.72/GBP178.72 at the time of this listing)
including Express Mail (EMS) postage and handling to anywhere in the world, but
not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
If you are interested in purchasing this remarkably
beautiful landscape showcasing Swanevelt’s skill in creating the illusion of
spatial depth, please contact me (oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will
send you a PayPal invoice to make the payment easy.
