“Raising of Lazarus (Small Plate)”, 1784

Etching on fine  wove (Japanese) paper trimmed slightly within the platemark on the lower margin and backed with a support sheet.

Size: (sheet) 16.7 x 13.3 cm; (image borderline) 14.6 x 12.4 cm.

Inscribed on plate with the artist’s monogram and date on the step below Christ and partially erased below the image borderline at lower left.

“Raising of Lazarus: interior of a vault, with Christ standing on the right, surrounded by figures, and Lazarus raising from his grave on the left”

Condition: richly inked and well-printed impression trimmed slightly within the lower platemark and laid onto a support sheet of archival (millennium quality) washi paper. Beyond a small hole in the lower margin (visible only when the print is held up to the light) the sheet is in an excellent condition with no tears, folds, abrasions, stains or foxing.

I am selling this small jewel of an etching by one of the most important artists of the Enlightenment in Poland for AU$322 in total (currently US$247.27/EUR205.16/GBP180.03 at the time of posting this print) including Express Mail (EMS) postage and handling to anywhere in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
