I am selling this large pencil-signed proof-state
engraving showing a classically robed shepherdess holding a fine tree branch across
her shoulders as she accompanies her flock of sheep, for AU$322 (currently US$217.74/EUR217.09/GBP183.68
at the time of posting this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere
in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some
countries.
If you are interested in purchasing this marvellous
example of Salon-based engraving—mindful that the Director of the École des
Beaux-Arts, Jean de Falaise, had instigated the idea of having the works of the
Salon that were awarded medals to be engraved (an idea that floundered when Jules
Thomas’ “beautiful kneeling face of Mgr. Landriot, Bishop of La Rochelle” seemed
an inappropriate subject to be engraving [see footnote: https://archive.org/details/lesgraveursdu19e08berauoft/page/216/mode/2up])—please contact me (oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal
invoice to make the payment easy.
