I am selling this early woodcut showing the Professor
of Hebrew at Wittenberg, Johann Forsterus, (aka Förster or Forstheim)
(1496–1558), who helped Martin Luther (1483–1546) with the translation
of the bible into German, for the total price of AU$266 (currently US$178.78/EUR178.56/GBP150.87
at the time of posting this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere
in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some
countries.
If you are interested in purchasing this seemingly simple and even austere woodcut of one of the historically important theologians in Germany in the early 1500s—mindful that what may look like cross-hatched pen lines in the dark areas is created by skilfully cutting diamond-shaped lozenges into the wooden printing block so that the cut holes produce the illusion of crossed lines—please contact me (oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal invoice to make the payment easy.
