Engraving on fine laid paper trimmed with narrow margins.

Size: (sheet) 27.4 x 17.6 cm; (plate) 26.5 x 16.8 cm; (image borderline) 24.5 x 16.5 cm.

Inscribed in plate within the image borderline: (along the celestial ray striking down Saul) “SAVLE SAVLE QVID ME PERSEQVERIS”; (lower left corner) “la Callot. fecit.”

Lettered in plate below the image borderline: (centre) “Qui lupus ense ferox Saulus laniauerat Agnos/ PAVLVS mox Agnus uulnerat ore lupos.”; (lower right) “P. Mariette excud.”

State ii (of ii) with the addition of Pierre Mariette as publisher.
