(a mercenary soldier), 1891, after a polychrome wax sculpture by the artist.

with pale plate tone on cream wove paper backed with a support sheet. Note that
there is a heliogravure of this print that has a smaller plate size, printed on
white paper and without the second line of text below the title.

28.4 x 19.1 cm; (plate) 20 x 14 cm; (image borderline) 18.1 x 12.3 cm.
Inscribed in plate: (in reverse below the
sculpture) “Ringel d'illza[c?]h 1891./ s[c?].
[c?]er del et s[cul?].”; (lower centre) “CONDOTTIERE/ PASTICHE CIRE DE COULEUR”.
Condition: a strong and near faultless
impression in pristine condition with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions,
stains, foxing or signs of use. The sheet has been laid onto a support of
archival (millennium quality) washi paper providing larger margins.
I am selling this very beautiful drypoint of
the head of a Renaissance period mercenary based on a polychrome wax sculpture by
the artist for AU$236 in total (currently US$162.29/EUR159.43/GBP138.98 at the
time of posting this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere in the
world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
