Henri Laurent (aka Pierre Louis Henri Laurent) (1779–1844) for the Musée Napoléon

fine wove paper (watermarked: “MUSÉE NAPOLÉON/
PUBLIÉ PAR HENRI LAURENT”) with wide margins.

The British
Museum offers the following description of this print: “Judith holding the head
of Holofernes in her left hand, a sword in her right, accompanied by her
maidservant at right, after Allori” (https://www.britishmuseum.org/collection/object/P_1867-1214-776).
Condition: a
strong and near faultless impression with generously wide margins and in a near
pristine condition (i.e., there are no tears, holes, folds, abrasions, stains
or foxing).
I am selling
this masterwork of engraving—note the subtlety of the engraver’s use of tonal
gradations without harsh contrast and ability to connote the different weights
and surface qualities of the fabrics represented—for AU$253 (currently US$168.86/EUR163.62/GBP141.94
at the time of posting this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere
in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some
countries.
