Crayon-manner lithograph printed in black on heavy wove paper, trimmed with loss of the upper left corner and backed with a support sheet.

Size: (sheet trimmed unevenly) 45 x 32.5 cm.

Inscribed in plate along lower edge: (left) “[artist’s signature] Julien/ Chez Aubert gal. véro-dodat.”; (centre) “COURS DE DESSIN/ par Julien d’après Horace Vernet”; (right) “Imp. d’Aubert & C^ie.”

Condition: a strong and well-printed impression laid onto a support sheet of archival (millennium quality) washi paper. The upper-left corner is truncated and lost and there is a restored torn section on the upper-right edge. The sheet has many surface marks, bumps, chips and tears to the edge—clearly this academic study, designed for students to copy, has a history of being handled.

I am selling this large and exceptionally beautiful lithograph by one of the most famous of 19^th century artists involved in creating academic studies for students to copy, for the total cost of AU$221 (currently US$145.60/EUR137.47/GBP121.80 at the time of this listing) including Express Mail (EMS) postage and handling to anywhere in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
