The Rijksmuseum offers the following description of this print: (transl.) “Paul sits chained on the ground at night. Watchmen sleeping next to him. Christ appears before him and commands him to bear witness to him in Rome. A tent camp with soldiers in the background. With a Latin caption with a Bible passage from the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 23:11)” (http://hdl.handle.net/10934/RM0001.COLLECT.168508).
Condition:
a strong and well-printed (near faultless) lifetime impression (based on the
quality of line with no sign of wear to the printing plate) trimmed with thread
margins around the platemark. The sheet is in a near pristine condition for its
considerable age with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions, significant stains or
foxing.
I am
selling this sensitively executed and very beautiful engraving by one of the
most famous of the Flemish old masters, for AU$302 (currently US$201.86/EUR182.64/GBP160.77
at the time of posting this print) including Express Mail (EMS) postage and
handling to anywhere in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes
imposed by some countries.
