“Shirasagi
Castle”, 1942, an original colour woodblock print on fine washi paper, self-published
by the artist (Toshi Yoshida) from a later edition, signed and titled in
English below the image borderline and with the artist’s seal within the image
at lower right.
Size:

Condition:
a faultless impression in a pristine condition with strong (unfaded) colour and
margins as published,
I
am selling this exceptionally beautiful colour woodblock print showing in the soft light of dawn (or evening),
Shirasagi Castle—a white castle
complex (aka Himeji-jō; Himeji Castle; Hakuro-jō; White Egret Castle;
Shirasagi-jō; White Heron Castle) in the Hyōgo Prefecture of Japan that I
understand some viewers perceive as resembling “a bird taking flight” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Himeji_Castle)—for
the total cost of AU$697 (currently US$460.87/EUR422.11/GBP363.55 at the time
of posting this listing) including postage and handling to anywhere in the
world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.
If
you are interested in purchasing this glorious woodblock capturing, with great
subtlety, the atmosphere, colour and poetically quiet and mellow mood that is
distinctly Japanese (at least from my way of looking at this amazing print),
please contact me (oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal
invoice to make the payment easy.
