Louis Legrand’s etching with aquatint, drypoint and dot-roulette, “La Divine Parole”, 1894

Louis Legrand (aka Louis Auguste Mathieu Legrand) (1863–1951)

“La Divine Parole” (The Divine Word), 1894, from (I understand) an edition of 100 impressions.

Etching with aquatint, drypoint and dot-roulette, printed in a brown ink on cream wove paper with small margins backed with a support sheet providing wider margins.

Size: (sheet) 25.5 x 16.3 cm; (plate) 22.1 x13. 6 cm; (image borderline) 21.7 x 13.1 cm.

Signed in the plate at lower right corner.

Condition: a strong impression with small margins (approx.1.5cm around the image) and laid onto a support of archival (millennium quality) washi paper providing wide margins.
Beyond minor toning around the edges, the sheet is in an excellent condition with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions or significant stains.

I am selling this hauntingly beautiful image—possibly seeped in the dreamy vision of the Pre-Raphaelites—for AU$291 (currently US$18955/EUR175.86/GBP150.31 at the time of posting this print) including postage and handling to anywhere in the world, but not (of course) any import duties/taxes imposed by some countries.

If you are interested in purchasing this very subtle and poetic etching (with aquatint, drypoint and dot-roulette), please contact me (oz_jim@printsandprinciples.com) and I will send you a PayPal invoice to make the payment easy.
