Monseigneur Pie, Évêque de Poitiers” (Monsignor Pie, Bishop of Poitiers), 1879, engraving printed by Charles Chardon aîné (fl.1850–1880) and published in Paris in the art periodical, “La Gazette des Beaux-Arts” (1st March 1879), as an insert between pages 226 and 227.

Engraving on chine collé (China) paper removed from its original backing and laid onto a support sheet providing wide margins.

Size: (chine collé sheet) 22.4 x 15.9 cm; (image borderline) 19.3 x 14.3 cm.

Condition: a strong and well-printed (near faultless) impression with small margins and laid upon a sheet of millennium quality washi paper providing wide margins. The sheet is in a near pristine condition with no tears, holes, folds, abrasions or stains.

I am selling this technically outstanding and very beautiful engraving by one of the most skilful of the 19th century master engravers, for a total cost of AU$242 (currently US$152.99/ EUR 146.29/ GBP 121.84 at the time of posting this listing) including Express Mail (EMS) postage and handling to any location worldwide.
